Coming Out of the UFO Closet

I never expected us to get to the point where we are openly talking about the realities of UFOs and aliens. Like many Americans I had long ago lost faith in any idea of truth or honesty when it comes to dealing with our Federal government. I also lost faith in the deeply distracted public who, throughout my life, had obsessed over meaningless nonsense while avoiding difficult problems. Now that this has come to the forefront we are forced to battle not only with the facts being presented but also the stigma dispersed over many decades of foolish ignorance.

President Trump has ordered the government to tell the public what they know about these subjects. They are sitting on 80 years of information, much of which has been classified and kept from us. If you don't understand what is going on you need to watch the documentary Age of Disclosure. It covers a number of UFO related topics but primarily it breaks down the congressional hearings on the subject.

Why am I writing about this? Over the course of my life I have seen three anomalous objects in the night sky, three UFOs that no one has ever been able to explain to me. I have mentioned these on occasion over the years but never really took an interest in the subject due to the stigma. Here is what I witnessed.

1985 (East Main Street, Avon, Massachusetts) - One night my Mother and I witnessed a Black Triangle craft floating silently above the trees in our backyard. It had red lights on all three corners which lit up the back of our house. It sat in place for a minute or two and then slowly drifted away over the horizon.

1988 (Malley Ave, Avon, Massachusetts) - My friend Mark and I saw a white light far off into the sky on a cloudless night that zig zagged like the line on an EKG machine. Seconds later it did it again. Weeks later an event with the exact same description was reported in the newspapers by a meteorological team in Israel.

Nov 4th, 2025 (Cranberry Highway, Wareham, Massachusetts) - I witnessed a white orb surrounded by a gaseous cloud moving slowly in the night sky. At first I thought it was the moon then realized that the moon was behind me and there were no clouds in the sky. Secondly I thought it was a plane but then a small engine plane flew right under it. I took the following pictures with my phone.

The photos are very disappointing, I wish I had taken video. To my eye it looked like a white ball surrounded by a swirling gaseous cloud that was both obscuring it and emanating from it. I drove north down Cranberry highway in its direction but lost it through the trees and couldn't find it again.

If you are wondering why I gave simple descriptions of these events that is because many people know me as a novelist. I do not want to add color or embellish anything about my experiences. I have never believed that I was special in any way for having seen these objects nor do I believe I was affected or abducted. I spent many years avoiding the topic and the stigma even going so far as to never watch the X-Files. I will not be writing a book about any of this.

However, now that this is all public knowledge and the government is releasing info on a bi-weekly basis I feel more comfortable coming out of the UFO closet and exploring the issue. I have a feeling many more people will be doing the same. The previously fringe UFO community involves all of us, it just took us a while to accept it.

I have begun to research the subject and found it all quite inspiring. As a newly minted songwriter I'm turning my thoughts and feelings into lyrics. This has already been both therapeutic and enlightening. There is no denying what is going on and I believe that things are about to get very interesting. I'm hoping to create the soundtrack for these experiences. Stay tuned.
