There is a lot of discussion about how to go Pro in 2025. This has been sparked by the complicated, almost mystical nuance of the new ratings system. Unlike seasons past we now see our ratings number change on a daily basis. This is due to numerous calculations concerning how you throw, who you throw against, your wins/losses, your bullseyes/killshots plus I think your astrological sign multiplied by your enneagram number.
211 points + Emma - Jon ^ 4 wins/0 losses, 15 bulls, 0/0 kills
+ Aries times Individualist (4) = 584
I might be wrong about a couple of those. Anyway, I'm not great at math. Instead I came up with another way to work the new system. I took three throwing goals and based them on levels of risk. These ideas came from discussions with multiple experienced throwers who were helping me try to figure it all out. Here is what I came up with.
Method One (Low Risk) - Stay down. There are five bullseyes just waiting to be hit, then you switch sides and aim for 5 more. The upside is that these are easier to hit and you can maintain a steady level of points. The downside is that your top score is limited to 60 points.
Avoiding the killshots all together is the lowest level of risk but it might be enough to go Pro. So long as the thrower can hold a high enough average this is a plausible path.
Method Two (Medium Risk) - After your first 8 throws, check your score and make a decision. Pick a number that makes you feel like you are throwing well, maybe 44 or 45. If you hit your target number then throw one killshot and whether you hit or miss, go back down for the final throw. This requires a slight increase in risk. By testing the killshot waters but still returning to the board you get to limit your potential losses while allowing for higher top scores.
Another idea is you throw only one killshot per game right at the beginning and focus the rest on lower bulls. These plays have the most variations. It also requires the most practice to see what your target numbers should be.
Twisted Method (No Risk) - Paint your fingernails. I don't know why or how this works. It might have something to do with the alignment of the planets? Weirdly the color of your nails is also relevant. Black nails denotes demon energy, All Hail Satan! Green nails draw from the Mother Earth Goddess. Pink nails appear to be the most Fierce? Rainbow nails ignite Gay Power! This is some weird woke magic but the 2025 rating calculations clearly has an autistic bisexual energy so I'm just flowing with it.
These methods might seem pretty obvious to experienced throwers but this article is for those who are right on the edge. When you actually practice these systems the outcomes will reveal your strengths and weaknesses pretty quickly. I'm off to a good start so far and I'm determined to pass 600. No matter how many calculations or how much nail polish it takes, my goal will be achieved! Good luck everyone.
